Hui in PAIN

Here is quite an interesting painter. Her philosophy of art has to be mentionned i think because it is for me, ideas i couldn't get use to with my own art. Her name is Hsiao-Hui Huang, originaly Taiwanese, she lives in Christchurch, New Zealand.

She says that art is about interactivity and public interpretation. The good example of this idea would be her "mini-me" exposition. Heads painted on a frame made out of steel. The main features like the hair and the chin are painted, but everything else like the mouth, the eyes, the nose, etc... are made with magnets. Which gives the oportunity to the vuewer to make the piece of art look like he thinks that coiuld be. By creating this interactive pieces of art, the painter gives the chance to the viewers to extend their own creativity. And i feel that in this modern world where the main difference between men is the oportunity and capacity to make decisisons, it is always good to help or even push people to their limits of creativity and choice making. It might seem ridiculous than a painting could look like a challenge but if someone wants to do this experience once, just try it! Put a few people that you know of to have different characters, emotional, leader, passive and see the difference, could be surprising really.

So here is an example on one of her pieces:

If you want to see more of what she does, you can find the link to her website in the link section at: "Hui in PAIN" which is her website's name. Check out the section "arse me" to see more of her exhibitions and enjoy the writings (well, i won't make any personnel comments for that, héhéhé).

Hsiao-Hui, please, let me know if i have been mistaking anything about your work in this article.
